HENRY HUDSON HOTEL.

Well. How charming. This shot doesn't tell you much. Nor does the reverse of the card, which says "Only 58 steps from Coliseum." (The white structure on the right.) Only 58? Exactly 58? You'd feel like a slacker for taking more. This one began in 1929 as the American Women's Association Building, a club hotel. But it was too big, too bulky , too damn ugly, and too far north and west. It became a hotel during the Depression. And now it's a hotel again, a very fashionable one.
