Three video heads for special effects, like slo-mo. I'd forgotten how much that was an innovation of the time. It wasn't enough to shift the time we watched television - now we could control the very speed of the show itself!
For a thousand dollars, you could make movies. Think of it - before you had to get cameras whose film had to be developed, then strung into the projector, and splashed against a screen, if you had one. Now you could make movies and play them on the television set. Ask any movie director who was 13 in 1986, and I'll bet this page started it all. |
