Great clock; wish I had one. There's probably one still whirring away in a farmhouse kitchen somewhere. The Transistor Radio went for the steep price of 30 bucks - the iPod of the day, except that the sound was piped through a plastic tube into one ear, and one ear only. But the novelty of carrying a radio around was hard to resist. The carrying case was made out of some curious synthetic leather that flaked and cracked.

Believe me: while some appliances, like the irons, lasted forever, a lot of this stuff was just junk.

My mom had one of those irons. Thick fabric cord. It was obliterating creases three decades after she first plugged it in.
