There seems to have been an assumption that lesser cigarettes had a problem with dust. Even the small print says it: the "humidor pack" - yeah, right - not only protected against dust, but germs.

I don't remember anyone ever lighting a cigarette, wincing, stubbing it out, and saying: "That's not just cigaretty, that's germy."
