Handbills, signs, billboards, all saturating the target market with awareness of one word. MIKE. Nothing about the plot; at this point the actors’ names have shrunk to tiny copy. Lack of specifics would increase curiosity, and if people were informed that it was a phenomenal historic miracle comedy whose premiere would be tremendous, they’d be dying to see it.

Of course they would. This was the age that coined the term Ballyhoo; smart folk knew PR flummery when they smelled it.
