This is an extraordinary trove: the Film Daily scans at archive.org. The pdfs are huge, and filled with news of scant interest today - but the ads are often all we have left of the movies of the era. They're aimed at the distributors and producers, not the general public - but they're just as breathless. Except they don't promise thrils or romance as much as they shout that timeless inducement:

MONEY.

Nevertheless, we'll learn a few things, and meet some stars time has completely forgot. So far:
